Affiliate disclosure
How we make money, in plain English — because you cannot trust a recommendation unless you know how the recommender is paid.
The short version
The Edge Bench is funded by affiliate commissions, mostly through the Amazon Associates program. When you click one of our links and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or not.
As an Amazon Associate
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated on each page and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of the product — Amazon's price at checkout is the one that counts.
How links are handled
- Outbound buy links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow"and route through a redirect so we can measure clicks. They are marked with #ad near the button. - Prices are pulled live from Amazon and date-stamped. When we do not have a verified live price, we show none rather than a stale number.
Commissions never change a verdict
This is the part that matters most. Our rankings are driven by our published spec-and-value method, not by commission rates. Because our value score rewards inexpensive knives that perform, our top picks often earn us less than the alternatives — and we recommend them anyway. We accept no free products and run no sponsored placements, per our editorial policy.
Other retailers
Amazon is our default retailer because the knives and sharpening gear we cover are stocked there, which lets you check a live price and buy in one click. If we ever add another retailer, it will be disclosed the same way, and we will only ever route a tracked link through a program we have actually joined.
